New Fiesta to hit the road soon

Ford Fiesta 2011

Ford India on Thursday unveils the first look of its much-anticipated new global Ford Fiesta car in the capital while the official launch of the car will take place in mid – june this year.

Talking on the occasion, Ford India’s Managing Director Michael Boneham said that despite a huge competition, the car will see a good turn out of customers after the successful debut of Figo last year.

“For us it’s a new launch because it’s a brand new product for India. It fits in great with the need of Indian people who are our target customers. And for us it brings in new levels of technology in this segment, never seen before like voice activation for instance. It brings new levels and takes fuel efficiency to new level,” informed Boneham.

And even though the car will make an official debut on Indian roads in mid-June featuring under the premium segment, the pricing of the car remains a well-kept secret.

“We will announce the prices when we launch the product in mid-June,” he added.

The American car maker will open bookings for the new Fiesta with initial deliveries slated for June, just before the formal launch.

Besides all the existing features, the car has a unique voice activation function which controls air conditioning, plays music on your command, it even makes call, while driving with an added blue-tooth connectivity.

The car will be available in two versions, advanced Ti-VCT Petrol and TDCI diesel, both featuring manual transmissions with five forward gears and a reverse gear.
