Jeep India has introduced the facelifted version of the Jeep Compass SUV, starting at an attractive price point of Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This update brings good news for prospective buyers, as the entry-level model of the Jeep Compass now offers a more affordable option, with a price reduction of Rs 1 lakh.

In addition to the standard model, Jeep India has also unveiled the Black Shark Edition of the Jeep Compass, positioned just below the 4X4 variants. The Jeep Compass SUV is available in five distinct trim levels: Sport, Longitude, Longitude+, Limited, and Model S.

Introducing the Jeep Compass Black Shark Edition

The special edition Jeep Compass Black Shark Edition boasts a sporty all-black interior and sleek black alloy wheels. To enhance its unique appeal, this model features striking ‘Ignite Red’ accents both inside and outside.

Facelift Enhancements

The updated Jeep Compass receives a fresh look with its revised front grille and updated alloy wheels. Notably, the new chrome grille is now a feature of the Limited and the top-tier Model S trim levels.

Automatic Transmission Now Widely Available

Previously, the automatic gearbox was exclusive to variants equipped with the 4X4 drivetrain. With the facelifted version of the Jeep Compass SUV, automatic transmission is now available for two-wheel-drive variants as well, expanding the options for potential buyers.

Proven Powertrain

Under the hood, the Jeep Compass SUV retains its tried-and-tested 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. This engine, in the facelifted version, generates an impressive 168.5bhp and 350Nm of peak torque, ensuring a powerful and responsive driving experience.

Transition to BS6 Phase 2

It’s worth noting that the automaker has recently discontinued the 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine in the Jeep Compass SUV range. This strategic decision was prompted by the introduction of more stringent BS6 Phase 2 emission norms, aligning with the industry’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

With these updates and refinements, the Jeep Compass SUV continues to offer a compelling combination of style, performance, and value for money. The facelifted model, in particular, brings a breath of fresh air with its new look and expanded transmission options, making it an even more appealing choice in the competitive SUV market. Jeep enthusiasts and newcomers alike have good reason to explore the enhanced Jeep Compass lineup.
