MG ZS EV and Comet Receive Updates, Expanding Options for Indian EV Buyers

MG ZS EV 2024

MG Motor India has bolstered its electric vehicle portfolio with two key announcements: the introduction of a new MG ZS EV Excite Pro variant and upgrades to the MG Comet lineup. These additions aim to cater to a wider range of customer preferences and enhance the overall value proposition of MG’s electric offerings in the Indian market.

MG ZS EV Excite Pro: A Touch of Luxury

The new ZS EV Excite Pro variant takes the existing ZS EV a step further by introducing a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, adding a touch of luxury and enhancing the cabin ambience. This variant joins the established ZS EV lineup, which includes the Executive, Exclusive Plus, and Essence trims. Starting at Rs 19.98 lakh (ex-showroom), the Excite Pro inherits the features of its siblings, including a digital key and Level 2 ADAS for improved driver assistance and safety.

Under the hood, the ZS EV continues to pack a 50.3 kWh battery and an electric motor generating 174 BHP and 353 Nm of torque. This combination offers a claimed maximum range of 461 kilometers on a single charge, striking a balance between efficiency and driving engagement, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 8.5 seconds.

MG Comet Gets Fast Charging and Additional Features:

MG has also addressed a key gap in the MG Comet lineup by introducing fast-charging options for the Excite FC and Exclusive FC trims. These variants are priced at Rs 8.23 lakh and Rs 9.13 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, representing a slight premium over the non-fast charging variants. However, they come equipped with additional features, such as:

  • Electronic Parking Brake
  • Electronic Stability Control
  • Rear Disc Brake
  • Hill-Hold Control
  • Power foldable ORVM
  • Turn indicator integrated DRL
  • Creep mode
  • Body-colored ORVMs

These additional features enhance the overall convenience and safety of the fast-charging Comet variants.

Wider Choice for Customers:

With the introduction of the Excite Pro variant and the fast-charging options for the Comet, MG now offers a more diverse range of electric vehicles:

  • MG ZS EV: Executive, Excite Pro, Exclusive Plus, and Essence
  • MG Comet: Executive, Excite, Excite FC, Exclusive, and Exclusive FC

These variants cater to a broader spectrum of customer needs and budgets, with prices ranging from Rs 6,98,800 to Rs 9,13,800 (ex-showroom). This wider selection allows potential buyers to choose the most suitable electric vehicle based on their individual preferences and charging infrastructure availability.

MG’s Commitment to Electrification:

By introducing these updates, MG Motor India reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its presence in the rapidly evolving Indian electric vehicle market. These additions demonstrate MG’s dedication to providing innovative and sustainable mobility solutions that cater to the diverse needs of Indian consumers, potentially contributing to the wider adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
